Arsenal have been keeping close tabs on Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume, according to Con Harrison.

The scout and Gunners insider, who has been featured on the BBC and The Overlap and is followed by the likes of Ben Jacobs, Jacob Steinberg and Darren Lewis on X (formerly Twitter), claimed this evening that the Cameroon-born 22-year-old has really caught the eyes of the North London club.

Arsenal want a new midfielder, and while a summer deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi is reportedly on the cards, they remain keen on strengthening their options in the position.

Agoume, dubbed ‘extraordinary’ by former Sevilla manager Enrique Sanchez Flores due to his physique and physical condition has proven his quality since joining Sevilla permanently last summer following an earlier spell.

The France under-21 international, who shares the same agent with Arsenal defender William Saliba, has played over 100 games as a professional despite his young age, and his performances have attracted the Gunners.

The North Londoners could lose both Thomas Partey and Jorginho at the end of the season and may want to replace both of them.

They could look to land both Zubimendi and Agoume in the summer, and landing the two midfielders will go a long way in providing much-needed squad depth and overall quality in the middle of the park.

The 6ft 2in powerhouse is an excellent tackler and he could be the perfect long-term replacement for Partey given his massive potential.

Barcelona are also said to be keeping an eye on him, and more suitors could join them and Arsenal in the pursuit of his services ahead of the summer transfer window.

Pipping competition to Agoume will be huge for the Gunners, but they will need to convince him that joining them is perfect for him to take his career to the next level.
