Arsenal are 'highly unlikely' to bring Barcelona ace Ansu Fati to the Emirates this summer, transfer insider Dean Jones has informed GIVEMESPORT.

The 20-year-old struggled with severe injury problems in 2021/22, though is now back fit and firing in La Liga, which has attracted high-profile interest in his services.

Lately, world-renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed on Twitter that Arsenal are 'tracking' Fati's situation with a view to making a move to sign the forward in the summer.

The Gunners' Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool are also 'well informed' on the Spain international, potentially creating a transfer tug-of-war for his signature.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a swoop for Fati in recent times, though they are said to be 'currently not working' on a potential deal.

The Bissau-born youngster has a €1 billion (£882.6 million) release clause in his Barcelona contract. However, Mundo Deportivo journalist Marcal Lorente claimed earlier this year that Fati could be available for as little as €70 million (£62 million).

What has Dean Jones said about Ansu Fati?

Transfer insider Jones doesn't see Fati moving on this summer or, indeed, any time soon from Barcelona.

Jones told GMS: "I think it's highly unlikely, to be honest. I know Barcelona have more financial questions to answer, but that's always the case these days and to me, Ansu just seems a player determined to continue to make his name at Barcelona. He's also only 20; I mean, it'd be really strange for him to jump ship now, given the way he burst onto the scene there. He's still coming back from an injury that would have really rocked him and I still think that there's scope there, but it's going to take a little bit of patience."

What are Ansu Fati's stats this season?

Fati has found his feet once again at Barcelona following a long recovery process from various injuries and had contributed with six goals and three assists from 31 appearances heading into this weekend, as per Transfermarkt.

Furthermore, FBRef also detail that the 20-year-old has participated in 35 shot-creating actions across 2022/23, demonstrating Fati's ability to create chances regularly for himself or others.

There is a feeling that the best is yet to come from the Spaniard, who has had to endure several roadblocks in his path since bursting on to the scene at Camp Nou back in 2019.

For the time being at least, it doesn't look like Fati will be swapping the sunnier climbs of La Liga for the Premier League as he continues to develop as a player.
