Journalist Tom Barclay has no doubts that Ben White will go on to become a success at Arsenal.

The centre-back, who's reportedly earning £120,000-per-week, made the switch to the Gunners earlier this summer for a £50m fee, becoming their third most expensive signing ever behind Nicholas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

What's the latest news with White?

It proved a testing start to the defender's Arsenal career when he was thrown in for his debut at Brentford on the opening day and returned a WhoScored rating of 6.0, which proved the second-worst of any of the Gunners outfield players on the day.

His fortunes have since changed, though. White missed the defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City and has made huge difference since coming back into the team for the victory over Norwich, helping Arteta's men get their campaign kick-started by collecting 10 points from four games, keeping three clean sheets in the process, the latest of which coming on his return to Brighton last weekend.

In fact, White's WhoScored rating for the season is currently at 6.88, which puts him fifth in the Arsenal squad and a sign of his improvements since his disastrous start at Brentford.

White's form wasn't enough to see him named in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the World Cup qualifiers with Andorra and Hungary, with Fikayo Tomori preferred, but Barclay has no doubts that the 24-year-old will end up proving a good signing for the north Londoners.

What did Barclay say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "He's obviously gone to Arsenal for £50m. It's early days there for him, but I'm pretty sure he's going to become a very good player."

How can White get himself back into the England squad?

Having made the final squad for the Euro's, White is clearly someone highly thought of by the Three Lions manager.

However, the centre-back department is an extremely competitive area, even with Harry Maguire out injured, meaning White is going to have to stay at his very best to have any chance of being selected for the November internationals.

His recent form has put him on the right track for future call-ups, but competing against the likes of Maguire, John Stones and now Tomori, three players that are at Champions League clubs, there's little room for error moving forward for the Arsenal centre-back, although he wouldn't be wrong to target Tyrone Mings' or Conor Coady's place.
