Arsenal need to move for £120k-a-week star 'in next week' at the Emirates
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has spent close to £120million on strengthening his squad, but Tielemans has not been among the fresh faces heading to north London so far.
What’s the latest news involving Tielemans?
Uncertainty over Tielemans’ long-term future remains as the central midfielder has entered the final 12 months of his £120,000-per-week contract at Leicester.
Arsenal have been keeping tabs on his situation for a prolonged period of time, with internal discussions being held since January.
But, according to football.london, the Gunners are prepared to wait until Tielemans’ Leicester deal expires next summer before looking to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
The report suggests Arsenal have been put off by the Foxes’ £32million asking price and feel the price tag is too high considering the 52-cap Belgium international’s precarious contract situation.
What has Dean Jones said about Tielemans?
Jones believes that Arsenal will have to strengthen their interest in Tielemans within the next seven days if they want to secure his services before the September 1 deadline.
The transfer insider is confident that Leicester would not allow the midfielder to move onto pastures new in the final days of the window.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “They’ve won the Premier League more recently than Arsenal, they’ve been competing in Europe and been trying to challenge the top six.
“They’re not going to be in a situation where they’re happy for all these players to just suddenly leave on the eve of deadline day.
“Arsenal are probably going to have to come forward in the next week, to be honest, if they want Tielemans.”

Why do Arsenal appear to be having second thoughts?
According to talkSPORT, Arteta has some concerns over Tielemans’ physicality and that has resulted in Arsenal opting against rushing into a deal.
The report suggests the Gunners chief has not told the hierarchy to push ahead with attempting to reach an agreement due to doubts over whether the one-time FA Cup winner has the presence Arteta is looking for.
Cooling their interest has reportedly resulted in it becoming more likely that Tielemans will pen a fresh one-year contract with Leicester.
