Arsenal are tracking Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, according to the Telegraph.

The Gunners would like to add him to their forward options, but face competition from Real Madrid.

Los Blancos president Fiorentino Perez reportedly sees him as a future replacement for Karim Benzema.

Madrid are interested in signing Havertz, but Chelsea’s £70 million asking price is putting them off.

Havertz has two years left on the five-year deal he signed when he joined Chelsea in 2020.

He helped the Blues win the 2020/21 Champions League, scoring a memorable winning goal.

Havertz was also instrumental as Chelsea won the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

However, he has never truly established himself as a top striker capable of leading the line for Chelsea.

On his day, the German can link play better than most top strikers, using his body to shield the ball. However, his erratic finishing is a major issue.

Havertz has not indicated any interest in renewing his Chelsea contract and is considering a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Madrid have Havertz on their wishlist and may step up their interest if they fail to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the situation and could make a move if the 14-time Champions League winners secure Kane’s services.
