Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League encounter against AS Monaco, Mikel Arteta gave his verdict on the Principality club, who head into Wednesday night’s match at the Emirates Stadium level on points.
“I’m impressed by Monaco. It is a really great team. You have seen their run in the Champions League and in Ligue 1, especially against big teams. They are a real threat and a team super well-organised, very strong and good in transitions. Monaco have lots of qualities and it will be a real test for us tomorrow,” said Arteta.
The Arsenal manager must contend with an injury crisis during Monaco’s visit to London with the likes of Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel, Jurrien Timber, and Oleksandr Zinchenko all doubts. Les Monégasques, meanwhile, have promised to be “brave” against the Gunners, with Adi Hütter stating that his side “won’t hide” and simply “be a nice opponent” for Arsenal, during the pre-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News.
