Edu Gaspar played for Arsenal between 2002 and 2005 where he won two Premier League titles and was a part of Arsene Wenger’s unbeaten ‘Invincibles’ side.
Now, it looks like the former midfield could return to north London.
According to an article on Brazilian outlet Globoesporte’s website, Gaspar has been offered to become Arsenal’s new director of football.
Edu finished his career where he started at Corinthians, where he started working as a football administrator and met Tite.
The current Brazil boss then invited Gaspar to be a co-ordinator with the national team.
Edu has seen his role increase in recent years, making clear what his functions are and frequently responding to many questions at the national team’s press conferences.
Raul Sanllehi is currently Arsenal’s head of football but it is likely Edu would come in to work alongside him and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.
The article states that the Brazilian FA (CBF) have been informed of Arsenal’s approach.
