Arsenal appear to be close to agreeing a new contract with Bukayo Saka, according to David Ornstein of the Athletic.
Saka’s future has been unclear over recent weeks with his current deal ending in 2021 and rumours that the teenager may look to leave the Emirates.
However, it seems that the 18-year-old is now set to stay in north London.
The report states that Arsenal are “putting the finishing touches to a new deal” with an announcement expected next week.
This will be a huge boost to Mikel Arteta’s plans to reshape the club, with Saka one of the shining lights of their season so far.
Saka, who graduated from the club’s Hale End academy, was thrown into the team at left-back by interim coach Freddie Ljungberg in December and he has been a regular ever since.
After originally breaking into the first-team squad as a winger, Saka has flourished at left-back, providing ten assists in all competitions so far this season.
Arteta has even used him in midfield recently and he is set to be a major part of the Spaniard’s Emirates Stadium rebuild.
