Arsenal are close to finalising a new long-term contract for teenage winger Ethan Nwaneri, a report has claimed.
Nwaneri has blossomed into a key player for Mikel Arteta in the absence of injured winger Bukayo Saka, filling in on the right side of attack with eight goals across all competitions.
Such form has firmly established Nwaneri as one of Europe's elite young prospects and has, predictably, sparked links to clubs across the continent. Real Madrid were recently touted as suitors for the winger, who turned 18 earlier this month.
Keen to avoid any speculation from growing, Arsenal are looking to reward Nwaneri's rise with a bumper new contract which The Mail state is on the cusp of completion.
A new five-year contract is on the table for Nwaneri, who rejected a number of elite sides in 2023 to ink fresh terms with Arsenal.
While Nwaneri has always been rated incredibly highly, his progression this season has caught Arsenal staff by surprise and the Gunners recognise he deserves a reward for proving himself capable of playing in the Premier League.
Club officials are working on a series of contracts ahead of the summer transfer window. Saka is due to be offered a new long-term deal, while talks are planned with centre-back duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, whose deals expire in 2027.
Midfielders Thomas Partey and Jorginho are both expected to leave the club when their deals expire this summer, with the latter recently admitting his interest in playing in Brazil.
