Arsenal have announced that Josh Kroenke and Stan Kroenke have become their co-chairs, while Tim Lewis is the new executive vice-chair.
The changes are in recognition of the evolution of the club’s leadership structure.
Lewis was their non-executive director until now, with the Kroenkes and Lord Phil Harris of Peckham directors.
There will not be a major shift in the operations of Arsenal, but the appointments were made to provide clarity to the trio’s roles.
Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham will continue to oversee the day-to-day running of the club and report to the board.
Josh Kroenke was first made a non-executive director in 2013, five years before his father took full ownership of Arsenal.
The 42-year-old has often spoken on behalf of his dad when relating with the fans.
There were calls for the north London club to be sold after years of struggle that followed Arsene Wenger’s departure.
However, there has been a change of fortune since Mikel Arteta arrived.
Arsenal have won the FA Cup and Community Shield since the Spaniard became manager in December 2019.
They are top of the Premier League after 27 games, with five points separating them from closest challengers Manchester City.
A first league title since 2004 is on the cards and the board deserve credit.
The club have been unable to match the spending power of Manchester City and Chelsea.
However, they have been able to invest a considerable amount in the transfer market and make quality signings.
The board will look to make the squad better going forward by continuing to support Arteta.
