Arsenal loanee teammates suggest crowdfunding to sign him | OneFootball

Hector Bellerin’s loan teammates have joked that they’ll need to open a crowdfunding page so they can sign the Arsenal player this summer.

With the season in Spain coming to an end, Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin is set to return from his loan spell with Real Betis. But there will certainly be plenty disappointed to see him leave Betis.

Bellerin is particularly close with Borja Iglesias, whom he assisted for a goal in the Copa Del Rey final, as well as Aitor Ruibal Garcia.

“Hey,” Iglesias wrote on Twitter. “Do we open crowdfunding so that Hector Bellerin stays? How do you see it, Aitor?”

“It’s necessary,” Ruibal responded.

Real Betis’ club account got in on the joke, suggesting Iglesias would need to do some more sponsorship deals to raise the cash.

Joking aside, it does seem likely Betis make a move to sign Bellerin this summer, and that appears to be what the player himself wants.

Speaking to his YouTube channel, Goal’s Charles Watts recently reported that people close to Hector Bellerin have given him the impression he won’t be returning to Arsenal.

As things stand, all parties are working towards his exit.

Real Betis are Bellerin’s primary destination on a permanent deal, and they want to keep him. But Watts believes Arsenal won’t get the £15m sometimes quoted for the defender, with €5-10m a more likely fee.

Betis have made it clear to Bellerin that they want him to stay permanently, and they believe they can afford him at that price. Though he would need to take a pay cut.

The Mirror reported last month that Bellerin wants his loan switch to Real Betis to be made permanent, and he’d be willing to accept that drop in wages to make it happen.
