Last weekend, we were writing about Harry Clarke’s assist in a 3-2 defeat to St. Mirren. This week, the young defender scored one himself – in another 3-2 defeat.

With less than seven minutes on the clock against Livingston, Clarke picked up the ball well outside the box, before driving a low shot at goal.

Perhaps unexpectedly, the right-back’s effort arrowed into the bottom corner of the net. You can watch the goal here from 0:16.

Just like the previous week, the lead didn’t last, and Ross County were 2-1 down by half-time. Despite a second-half equaliser, they ended up losing the game to a heartbreaking 95th-minute header.

There was a lot to like about Clarke’s performance again. On top of the goal, he made three clearances, one interception, blocked a shot, and won 11 of his 15 individual duels. But his team remain in dire form.

Ross County remain bottom of the division, without a win in 10 league games. Clarke can only keep giving his all and hoping things improve.
