Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger has revealed that both Arsenal and Liverpool are considering a move the 25-year-old, who carries a €40m-€50m price tag.

Liverpool will be relying on the efforts of the returning Michael Edwards - now acting as owner FSG's CEO of Football - to revitalise the club ahead of Jurgen Klopp's departure and seem to believe that Malen would fit their offensive system. Malen is said to be open to a move to Anfield, but first wishes to know who the new Reds manager is set to be.

Liverpool may view Malen as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah - 90min understands the Egyptian is in line to receive another lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Premier League title rivals Arsenal are also emerging as contenders to sign the winger, who spent two years in their youth system.

It has been widely reported Arsenal may be in market for a forward this summer, with previous links to Brentford's Ivan Toney. However, the Gunners have proven that a new centre forward may not be needed, as they sit at the top of the Premier League table with a total of 70 goals.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported that the Gunners are a 'concrete option' for Malen, who was a Eredivisie winner with previous club PSV Eindhoven. He may not be the team's only signing from the Bundesliga either, with Arsenal also said to be eyeing up Joshua Kimmich.
