Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs interested in signing Ferland Mendy from Real Madrid this summer.

Mendy will enter the final 12 months of his contract at Real Madrid in the summer and the Spanish side could look to offload the France international at the end of the campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are interested in a deal to sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich and the arrival of the Canadian could pave the way for Mendy to leave the Bernabeu.

L’Equipe claim that situation has alerted a number of the Premier League’s top clubs with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all interested in signing the 28-year-old.

Arsenal have used Jakub Kiwior at left-back for much of the campaign with Oleksandr Zinchenko having failed to reach the heights of last season, while Manchester United have seen Luke Shaw struggle with injuries during the current campaign. The Red Devils also have Tyrell Malacia as an option at left-back, though the Dutchman has not featured this season due to injury.

Real Madrid’s stance on Mendy comes despite Ancelotti’s admiration for the player. The Italian this week called Mendy the best defensive left-back in the world after his performance in Real Madrid’s Champions League elimination of Manchester City.

However, the expected arrival of Davies would leave the Spanish side with three senior left-backs and Fran Garcia is viewed as a more suitable back-up, with Mendy unlikely to be content with a reduced role next season.

Real Madrid will look to sell the France international should Davies arrive, given the risk of losing Mendy on a free transfer in 2025.
