Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has heaped praise on new signings Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Both players started in defense for the Gunners against Norwich City in the Premier League, a game they won 1-0 at home.

Parlour, who was part of the Invincibles that went undefeated in the Premier League in 2003/2004, believes Tomiyasu and White were key reasons for the Gunners picking up a win on Saturday.

"(The fans) really got behind the side, which I was so pleased about. It does give you a lift, knowing the fans are behind you. The energy levels were very good for Arsenal," Parlour told talkSPORT.

"I thought they did well, the back four. Ben White I thought had a really good game, strong. I was very pleased with how they played at the back," Parlour added.

"Tomiyasu looked very good. Tierney didn't have his best game but we all know how good he is, putting deliveries into the box."
