Arsenal leak new signing early through apparent store error
Arsenal appear to have unintentionally announced the signing of Gabriel Jesus early, putting his new shirt in the club store.
As Arsenal close in on their official announcement for the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, the leaks just keep coming.
First, pictures appeared online of Jesus embracing Edu Gaspar after arriving in London for his medical.
After that, footage surfaced of Jesus dressed in Arsenal colours walking around the Emirates Stadium, seemingly conducting an interview.
Now, the player’s shirt is even for sale on the official club website.
There was seemingly a similar error with Fabio Vieira, with the Arsenal Direct website posting a message saying “Welcome Fabio” before the club had confirmed the news anywhere else.
Vieira was announced very shortly afterwards, in that case.
Jesus spent five years with Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles among other honours.
The striker provided a combined 25 goals and assists in 41 appearances this season, averaging a goal contribution every 103 minutes.
Arsenal will hope he can keep that record up in North London and add plenty of goals to Mikel Arteta’s side in the coming campaign.
Jesus has plenty of personal motivation, with the World Cup coming up later this year. The stronger he starts at Arsenal, the better his chances of a starting role with Brazil.
