Arsenal have made just one first-team signing during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners confirmed a permanent transfer for goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford earlier this month. The club are poised to step things up over the next few days.

Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori is on the cusp of joining the club and it appears they are also pushing to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Dan Bentley.

The Gunners have reportedly made a renewed bid of £300,000 for the 31-year-old after Wolves rejected their opening bid of £50,000.

The Midlands outfit have quoted £1 million for the former Bristol City man, but the two clubs are close to agreeing a compromise.

Bentley could join Arsenal for US pre-season tour

The Gunners are currently without Raya and Aaron Ramsdale after Spain and England reached the final of the European Championship in Germany.

Both players are unlikely to be involved in training until early August. Karl Hein, who signed a new long-term deal this summer, is currently the most senior shot-stopper for the US tour.

Academy goalkeeper Lucas Nygaard has travelled with the team after featuring against Leyton Orient yesterday, but manager Mikel Arteta would ideally want more experience in goal.

Bentley, who was described as ‘incredible‘ by former Bristol City manager Dean Holden, has made 437 appearances including seven for Wolves.

The Arsenal graduate has impressed with his reflexes in goal during his short time in Midlands and Arteta will be eager to have him with the squad for the upcoming friendlies.

Arsenal play Bournemouth, Manchester United and Liverpool in the US before returning home for two more friendlies.
