Daniel Ek is likely to fail in his bid to eventually takeover Arsenal as the Gunners are not taking him seriously, according to journalist Paul Brown.

What's the latest news involving a potential Arsenal takeover?

Swedish billionaire Ek, who is the co-founder and CEO of music streaming service Spotify, revealed in April that he is "very serious" about wanting to buy Arsenal.

Club legends Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp teamed up with Ek as they vied to gain control of the Gunners.

confirmed, via social media, that he submitted a bid to take ownership of the Emirates Stadium-based outfit less than a month later.

However, he saw the bid - reportedly worth £1.8billion - turned down by the Gunners' current owners, the Kroenkes.

Despite the setback, Henry - speaking on Sky Sports via the Sun - revealed Ek has not given up on his dream to buy Arsenal.

What has Paul Brown said about Ek potentially owning Arsenal?

Brown does not expect Ek to succeed in his quest to take ownership of the north London club.

The journalist claims Ek's use of social media and his appearances at the Emirates Stadium could come back to haunt the Swede.

Brown does not expect the current Gunners hierarchy to do business with Ek.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "The thing you have to remember with football takeovers is that the people who shout the loudest usually fail.

"When a club takeover happens it is almost always the people who have been talking very quietly behind the scenes, going through the books and making friends with the people they're trying to buy the club from. They're the ones who usually do the deals.

"The ones who show up very publicly, making statements, appearing at matches and tweeting things tend to be the ones who aren't taken too seriously and I'm not convinced Arsenal are taking Daniel Ek very seriously at all."

What have the current owners said about the possibility of selling the club?

Stan Kroenke, the head of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, became an Arsenal shareholder in 2007 before being installed as the club's majority shareholder in April 2011.

Despite large protests against Kroenke and his son Josh Kroenke earlier this year, the owners publicly confirmed they remain committed to the Gunners and have no interest in selling their stake.
