Arsenal are set to have funds available to spend this summer, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Despite being on the verge of missing out on qualifying for the Champions League, Taylor believes there’s every opportunity that Mikel Arteta will be backed in the upcoming window.

What’s the latest news involving Arsenal?

Arsenal might have blown their best chance for several years to finish fourth and return to Europe’s elite competition, but there has been clear progress under the Spaniard this season.

Heading into the final-day, regardless of Tottenham’s result at Norwich, three points against Everton will secure Arsenal’s best return in a season since 2018-2019, with a victory over the Toffees putting them on 69 points.

Europa League football has already been secured, although the Gunners will be hoping to improve their squad in the summer market and be better prepared to fight for the top four in 2022-2023.

Which club did Marc Overmars start his professional career at?

Go Ahead Eagles Ajax Feyenoord PSV Eindhoven

Last summer, Arsenal were the top spenders in the Premier League, surpassing the £100m-mark, which saw them bring in the likes of Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White, who have both improved the starting XI.

But with European football to contend with next season, Arteta will need to continue strengthening his squad to be able to fight on two fronts, as well as the domestic cups.

And Taylor reckons there is money available for Arteta, highlighted by the club already being linked with players like Gabriel Jesus, who is valued at £45m by Transfermarkt.

What did Taylor say about Arsenal?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The indications are at the moment that Arsenal do have money to spend, otherwise they wouldn’t be going in for players like Gabriel Jesus, who is worth £50m, and perhaps more, so the indications are that there is money.”

Who have Arsenal been linked with?

According to the Telegraph, Arteta is expected to be backed by the hierarchy, even if his side do miss out on fourth spot, and it’s clear that attacking signings are his priority.

Jesus, who’s future at Manchester City is uncertain following the signing of Erling Haaland, looks like being Arsenal’s number one target, although the Brazilian is not the only player on Arteta’s list.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Arsenal are interested in signing Barcelona forward Memphis Depay, although they face competition from Everton and Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored a crucial winner to keep the Toffees in the Premier League on Thursday, is also on Arsenal’s radar, as is ex-Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who’s been in fine form since leaving for Roma, scoring more than 20 goals for the Serie A giants.
