TeamTalk report that Arsenal are set for talks for the Brighton defender, after the Premier League club signed Portsmouth’s Matt Clarke as a replacement. Brighton have set an asking price of £30m, and Leicester City are also interested.
Dunk has a contract with Brighton until 2023, and he made 38 appearances for the club this season, most of which were as captain.
The 6’3″ 27-year-old has a couple of years of Premier League experience now, as well as making his England debut during the 2018/19 season. He’s excellent at making blocks and winning aerial duels, not shying away from the physical side of the game at all.
There’s always a premium on English players playing in the Premier League, so it would be no surprise if Brighton were looking for £30m.
Arsenal could use an extra homegrown player or two, particularly at centre-back. Whether they can afford to spend that much this summer remains to be seen.
