Kannemann has been a standout performer for the Brasileirão side this season, and made his senior debut for Argentina in September.
According to Mail Sport, the Gunners have identified the 28-year-old as another no-nonsense, physical option for their shaky backline.
Nicknamed ‘The Viking’, Kannemann has a €17m release clause in his contract which would suit a cash-strapped Arsenal.
Flamengo and Boca Juniors have also expressed an interest but will struggle to match his valuation, while Atlético Madrid had a €10m bid turned down last summer.
Unai Emery has also asked his team to scout Ajax defender Nicolás Tagliafico.
