La Gazzetta dello Sport (via CalcioMercato) report that even though he only joined the club in the summer, Demiral is starting to push for a way out. They claim he already “beats his fists on the table to leave”, after very limited minutes so far.
The centre-back has made the Juventus squad on 13 occasions this season, but he only managed to get onto the pitch once, in a 2-1 win over Hellas Verona. He played 90 minutes that day in September, but he hasn’t even come off the bench since.
It seems Arsenal and Manchester United might try and take advantage of the 21-year-old’s situation. Dean Jones of Bleacher Report claims there is interest from both clubs, though Juventus aren’t keen to sell.
Perhaps the solution could be a loan spell in January. Demiral needs minutes, Arsenal need someone to fill in until their summer signing William Saliba arrives back from loan, Juventus wouldn’t have to part with the player so soon after signing him.
It’s early days for a potential transfer, but if the reports of the Gunners’ interest are true, they’ll be keeping a close eye on whether or not Demiral finally starts to get some games in the next two months.
