The current season has seen several FC Barcelona players explode and showcase their incredible talents at the highest level at very young ages. This is particularly true for the likes of Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal, who both have been a part of Xavi’s starting eleven, despite there being significantly more experienced options available.

Another player who has been performing at a very high level this season, but is yet to make his debut with the Barcelona first-team, is the defender, Mikayil Faye. The Senegalese arrived in Spain last summer, and has been playing at Barcelona Atletic, where he has been highly impressive and has also already made his international senior debut with Senegal.

The defender’s performances have attracted the attention of several big clubs in Europe, as it becomes clear that he will not be continuing with the Barcelona B team next season, and there are not a lot of free slots available in the first-team defence.

Thus, SPORT reports that Inter Milan and Arsenal are the latest sides to have shown their interest in the Barcelona youngster, while other big clubs like Manchester United and Juventus have already been reported to be interested in him.

With his performances and high demand in the market, the bet Barcelona made on the youngster in the last summer window is turning out to be a great success for the Catalan club. The Blaugranes had paid €1.5 million for him, which was a surprisingly high amount for a player of his age, but is now being justified by Faye’s great progress.

There is a €400 million release clause in Faye’s contract, so any side that wants the defender will have to negotiate with Barcelona. The Catalans have already rejected an offer from the French side Lens for his services, but it remains to be seen whether the Blaugranes will opt to cash-out on the defender now or keep him tied with the club for the future.
