According to Rudy Galletti, Arsenal have expressed interest in Youssef En-Nesyri. They are even prepared to include Alexandre Lacazette in a player plus cash deal, in an attempt to secure the services of the Sevilla forward. They are currently evaluating the feasibility of such a move but a transfer to Emirates in January could certainly be on the cards for the Moroccan international.

Youssef En-Nesyri: A Top Forward In La Liga

Youssef En-Nesyri has established himself as one of La Liga’s best-rated forwards due to his success in the league with Sevilla. He found the back of the net 18 times, helping his club secure a top-four finish and reach the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League last season.

A centre forward by trade, the Moroccan international has made quite an impression with his all-around abilities in the final third. Standing at 1.89m, the 24-year-old is particularly dominant in the air, notably averaging 2.5 aerial duels won per game last season. He is no slouch in the physical duels either and can outmuscle his opponents.

Aside from that, En-Nesyri can be very useful in the technical side of the game as well. He can link up with teammates in the final third while his ability to sniff goalscoring opportunities make him one of the most sought-after strikers in La Liga.

The former Leganes forward has already netted 32 goals for Sevilla since joining the club at the start of last season, two of which have come in the new campaign.

Do Arsenal Need En-Nesyri?

Arsenal‘s desire to sign Youssef En-Nesyri is hardly a surprise as the club requires more juice in the goalscoring department. Under the leadership of Mikel Arteta the team’s star man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has lacked the cutting edge, which was evident even in the recent 1-0 win over Burnley.

Other options like Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Martinelli or Eddie Nketiah haven’t been particularly helpful either and that is where En-Nesyri comes in the fray.

The tall Moroccan should be an interesting alternative to Aubameyang in terms of gameplay. Unlike the Gabonese international, the Sevilla frontman can offer the physical and aerial presence in the final third, something Arsenal have lacked over the years, especially after the departure of Olivier Giroud.

En-Nesyri also has a noted goalscoring pedigree at the highest level of football and brings considerable experience to the table. On that note, he could be an ideal investment for the Gunners, especially in the winter transfer window, as it will give them the opportunity to offload Lacazette before his contract expires at the end of the season.
