Fussball Transfers report that Denis Zakaria’s dream destination is the Premier League, and Arsenal are in talks with his camp over a possible free transfer next summer.

The same outlet adds that it will help Arsenal’s case if they qualify for European competition next season.

Zakaria reportedly has a long list of suitors, so he’d presumably have Champions League options if that’s what he wanted to prioritise.

Christian Falk reported in October that Arsenal are interested in Zakaria ahead of the summer, as the player runs down his contract with Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach.

The same journalist adds on the BILD website (via Sport Witness) that Arsenal are ‘hot’ for Zakaria, they’ve shown an interest in the past, and the player wants a move to the Premier League.

Given the 24-year-old is playing in a foreign league with a deal that comes to an end next summer, Arsenal will be free to agree a pre-contract deal with him in January.

Zakaria has a couple of goals and an assist this season, but he’s better known for his attributes as a more defensive midfielder.

Arsenal were linked with Zakaria over the summer, and Gladbach were reportedly open to selling, but it was never likely to go through unless Granit Xhaka left – which he didn’t.
