The Gunners are reportedly in talks with the player as FC Barcelona, previously seen as favourites, face difficulties in completing a deal.

Arsenal appear to be in the driver’s seat to secure the signature of in-demand Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, so says the media in Spain. The Gunners have reportedly entered negotiations with the Real Sociedad star as FC Barcelona, who identified him as a top target, face financial hurdles in closing any potential deal.
Zubimendi, 25, has emerged as a highly sought-after talent due to his commanding performances in the defensive midfield role.
Barcelona had been keen to bring him in as a potential replacement for the departing Sergio Busquets. However, it now seems that Arsenal’s aggressive approach and deeper pockets may sway the player’s decision.
With a contract at Real Sociedad running until 2027, Zubimendi carries an estimated market value of €50 million.
Arsenal are evidently prepared to meet this asking price as they look to strengthen their midfield this summer.
