Reiss Nelson could still leave the Gunners before end of window
The winger has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and is keen on the chance to move to Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are in the market for a forward and Mikel Arteta knows Sterling after working with him at Manchester City, when he was an assistant of Pep Guardiola.
It remains to be seen what deal is struck, but the expectation is that it would be a loan.
A deal for Sterling could have ramifications for Reiss Nelson, who has been keen to leave Arsenal this summer.
The winger is hungry for more first-team action and is the subject of late interest from Premier League clubs.
