Jack Wilshere is poised to return to a coaching role within the Arsenal academy, following an unsuccessful search for employment in recent months. The former midfielder has remained committed to pursuing a career in coaching and is now in discussions to rejoin the club where he first made his name.
Wilshere previously led Arsenal’s Under-18 side to the final of the FA Youth Cup two years ago, earning praise for his work in developing young talent. His coaching career then took him to Norwich City, where he took charge of their youth team on an interim basis towards the end of last season. However, despite his efforts, he was not offered the role on a permanent basis.
Since then, Wilshere has been actively seeking new opportunities in coaching, though no suitable position has materialised. According to Football Insider, talks have now been held regarding a possible return to Arsenal, and the club appears open to welcoming him back into the academy structure.

During his first spell in the Arsenal academy, Wilshere was credited with playing a key role in the development of several promising players, including Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly. His approach to youth coaching and familiarity with the club’s values made him a respected figure among staff and players alike.
Arsenal have placed significant emphasis on youth development in recent seasons, continuing to invest in both infrastructure and coaching personnel. The club is determined to ensure that its most talented young players receive the highest standard of guidance, and Wilshere’s return would align with that objective.
His previous success as a youth coach, coupled with his deep understanding of the club’s ethos, makes him a strong candidate to once again contribute to Arsenal’s academy setup. Should the talks progress positively, Wilshere could be back on the bench in the coming weeks, working to shape the next generation of Gunners talent.
