Kai Havertz and Ben White both scored twice, while Leandro Trossard opened the scoring, in a historic 5-0 victory for the Gunners, who now move three points clear atop the table.

Arsenal’s relentless attack

The Gunners came out firing, with Trossard finding the net within the first five minutes. While Chelsea briefly threatened a response, Arsenal’s attacking brilliance was undeniable. Martin Ødegaard pulled the strings in midfield, setting up chances for Havertz who initially lacked his usual composure in front of goal.

However, the second half belonged entirely to Arsenal. White’s superb curling finish broke Chelsea’s resistance, and Havertz quickly followed with two great finishes. Ødegaard remained the creative force, setting up both Havertz and White’s second goal as the Gunners ran rampant.

Chelsea, already under pressure following inconsistent results, imploded spectacularly. Shorn of the creativity of Cole Palmer due to illness, they looked toothless in attack. Nicolas Jackson’s profligacy in front of goal was particularly glaring, with the striker inexplicably missing an open net from six yards out, although he shouldn’t even have been on the pitch at that point. His early tackle on Takehiro Tomiyasu was a clear red card, yet didn’t even warrant a yellow. Cucurella and Disasi were overwhelmed in the defence, failing to contain Arsenal’s fluid movement.

Arsenal’s dominant performance sends a clear message to Manchester City and Liverpool: this title race is far from over. The Gunners possess the attacking quality and resilience to go the distance. While City remains the favourites due to their squad depth, Arsenal’s momentum and current form should not be underestimated.

This win is not just about the points for Arsenal; it’s a psychological blow to their rivals and further proof that under Mikel Arteta, they are genuine contenders for the Premier League crown.
