The Gunners made the perfect start to the campaign when they kicked off the new Premier League season with a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace, but Mikel Arteta still wants to add to his five new signings before 1 September.

What’s the latest news involving Arsenal?

A Gabriel Martinelli strike, and a late Marc Guehi own goal ensured three points on the opening day for the north London outfit, although Arteta admitted that he’s still hoping to strengthen his squad.

He said: “We are going to try and bring in more players. There are a few things that we have tried but for now it’s time to work with the players we have.”

One of the positions that Arteta is targeting is out wide, with Arsenal previously missing out on signing Raphinha, while they’re also keen on signing PSV ace Cody Gakpo.

Another that could be of interest is 22-year-old Neto, who was linked with a £50m move to Manchester United last year, and might be available, with Wolves on the verge of making Valencia forward Goncalo Guedes their second summer addition.

According to Football.London, Arsenal have a long-term interest in Neto, and Jones expects their pursuit of the Portugal international to increase in the coming days.

What’s the latest news involving Arsenal?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “If they decide to stay in the Premier League, I think Pedro Neto could be one to look out for.

“There have been some enquiries made along that path and I think that’s one that might get talked about a little bit more in the next week or so.”

Would Neto be a good signing for Arsenal?

Despite missing almost the whole of last season with an ACL injury sustained in the previous campaign, Neto is still one of the top young talents in the Premier League.

And while some might look at him as an underwhelming signing considering they’ve been linked with Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Raphinha, Neto fits Arteta’s model in north London and would add quality and competition to the Gunners’ frontline.

His top-flight record isn’t too bad either. In 74 league games for Wolves, Neto has scored nine goals, one of which came against the Gunners in 2020, and added 10 assists, which is a reasonable return for a 22-year-old.
