Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney is back on the pitch doing individual training after getting injured during the European Championship.

The Scotland international sustained a nasty injury against Switzerland on June 19 during the group stages, and he had to be stretchered off.

The Arsenal man was unable to walk off the pitch and his tournament ended immediately.

Tierney returned to North London for his rehabilitation and is now nearing full fitness going by recent pictures making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter).

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad and was tipped to leave Arsenal this summer.

However, the injury made that impossible and he has been included in the Gunners squad for the Champions League league phase.

It appears Tierney still has a future at the North London club after all, and he will hope to regain fitness quickly and join his teammates in training.

The Scottish left-back managed to make 27 appearances for Sociedad, with two hamstring injuries, sustained in September and January interrupting his campaign.

Arsenal are well-stocked at left-back, adding Riccardo Calafiori to their ranks in the summer transfer window, while Jurrien Timber is back on his feet after an injury-hit 2023-24.

Tierney could still force his way back into the plans of manager Mikel Arteta, but whether he can manage to stay fit going forward remains to be seen.

His individual training could take a while but the former Celtic star could be available for matchday selection starting from next month, and he will be keen to prove that he has what it takes to play for Arsenal again or leave in January.
