Arsenal have been told that they have a brief window to decide how to complete a deal to bring in Ivan Fresneda from La Liga outfit Rayo Valladolid.
The Gunners have been busy in the transfer market this month. They were initially interested in Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix, but both players instead opted to join Chelsea.
Arsenal have still moved quickly to add to their squad, though. Leandro Trossard was identified as an alternative to Mudryk and he has joined the Premier League leaders from Brighton for a fee that could rise to £27m with add-ons.

The Londoners have also brought in Jakub Kiwior on a permanent deal from Serie A side Spezia. He is coming in to provide competition for Gabriel Magalhaes at centre-back.
They are not finishing there as they are also interested in Fresneda. The 18-year-old has emerged as a breakout star in La Liga this season and he has played 12 times this term.
Arsenal are looking at him as a long-term signing who could eventually become their first-choice at right-back. In the short term, he will provide extra cover with Cedric Soares being linked with Fulham.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Valladolid want €15m for their young player and Bundesliga side are “pushing to get it done”.
Arsenal are said to have “24-48 hours” to “decide how to proceed”.
“No decision made by Iván Fresneda… yet. €15m fee was requested by Valladolid, and Borussia Dortmund are pushing to get it done — Arsenal have to decide how to proceed in 24/48 hours,” Romano tweeted.
“Valladolid want Fresneda to stay there on loan and BVB are discussing about it.”
Gunners legend Emmanuel Petit has indicated (via The Mirror) that Fresneda is “powerful” and has “great energy”.
“He’s [Fresneda] powerful and has good technique. He gets forward well and has great energy.”
Petit later suggested that Mikel Artete has a “jewel” with his current team.
“I think Arteta and his team understand they have a jewel in their hands with this young team and they represent the future of the Premier League. They have improved so much,” Petit added.
“What is the meaning of being a manager? To improve the individual and collective quality of the team and this is exactly what Arteta has done.
“I remember all the criticism that Arteta received at the beginning, but look at where they are now. I’m so happy with the strategy of the club, and of Arteta and the board. It’s so different now with the money some clubs are able to spend.
“If you look at Arsenal they are taking the right decisions. I don’t see anyone doing any better than them!”
