Arsenal’s preseason is underway, and it kicked off with a frustrating draw against FC Nürnberg in Germany.
Scorers: Okunuki 62′ ; Saka 7′
It was a nearly full-strength Arsenal side, despite removal of Martin Ødegaard in the warmup after a knock.
The Gunners got off to a fast start, as star winger Bukayo Saka darted in behind before arrowing the ball into the back of the net to snatch a lead for the visitors.
Nürnberg somehow levelled the scoreline just after the hour mark against the run of play, as a disastrous Karl Hein pass out from the back was sent firing back into the net by Kanji Okunuki.
The Gunners grew frustrated in front of goal after a slew of changes saw Kai Havertz make his debut.
They created flurries of chances to reclaim the lead, but they appeared to leave their shooting boots back in London.
Folarin Balogun had the chance to fire Arsenal ahead in the dying minutes after rounding the keeper, but somehow the youngster fired his shot into the side-netting, seeing the friendly end in a draw.
