The Gunners announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
The 21-year-old joined Arsenal in the summer 2022 transfer window but she has struggled to make the breakthrough in her time in North London.
Gio spent the first half of last season on loan at Arsenal’s Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Everton. The Brazilian netted one goal in seven Barclays Women’s Super League outings for The Blue Girls. The player returned to Arsenal for the second half of the campaign and she made 11 league appearances, all of which came from the bench.
It has been more difficult for Gio this season. The player made the bench for Arsenal’s fixtures in Round 1 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League but she has not been seen since. It was hugely important for Gio to go out on loan this month and she has now been handed the opportunity of some game time with Madrid CFF.
Gio started her senior career with Madrid CFF back in 2018 after coming through the Spanish club’s youth system. The forward represented the club at B Team level before breaking into the first team.
