Arsenal fans have had plenty to say ahead of facing Newcastle United on Sunday.
A match that could be pivotal in the race for second.
Most importantly for Newcastle United, is to make sure of a Champions League place, with Arsenal still not quite across the line as well.
With United having won three times already this season, how are Arsenal fans feeling ahead of this game on Sunday?
Arsenal fans commenting via their Arsenal Mania and Gooners World message boards:
‘Can’t stand this lot, but hard to argue against the fact they’re building a serious team.
If they can bring in Mbuemo, a midfielder to play with Tonali and Bruno G, and CB and keeper, I think they can challenge for the title.’
‘They got in our way twice, this is turning into a grudge match. Gotta put them to the sword. Somehow.
… also still praying Newcastle don’t get CL and Isak’s still a possibility (let me dream).’
‘Yeah Id love them to finish outside the t5 but a win is very much needed then
IF we win and the others dont mess it up, they will have maximum pressure where a DRAW to Everton will mean they could fall out of the t5.’
‘yeah…my dislike of these Geordies is growing by the year….
‘We owe these, I hope we smash them, with our luck it will be the other way round.’
‘Cup final for Arteta. Winning trophies is a matter of timing. If we win this, by extension, we have won the 2025 League Cup.’
‘This match is more important for the barcodes than the two semi final legs when they smashed us…..so we need to be at our best!’
‘I always think we should make their fans sit on the roof to retaliate for the seats they give away fans.’
‘Arsenal host the Geordies in the final home match of the season. Arsenal can guarantee 2nd with a win.
‘These guys have beaten us too much for my liking lately. Let’s show some balls, win this at home, and seal the 2nd spot so we can go on holiday and forget this season.’
‘Losing without scoring again would be a serious stain for Mikel. Need to win so people don’t leave before the lap of honour.’
‘Assuming Newcastle get Champions League football, and considering like 10 teams qualify for it now I think they will…this will be the first time Newcastle have had a better season than Arsenal since 1996/1997.
I am not smart enough to count how long ago that was ffs, these are the types of war crimes Arteta is committing here.’
‘We have had no cf since January and even with Havertz back we still have no cf.’
‘I’d actually take a draw, that’s the funny thing.
A draw and then a win away to Southampton (which I suppose isn’t a given as they halted Man City), and I think that means 2nd is secure, I’d need to double check though.
But I’d love to end the “race for 2nd place” with a win against Newcastle, but it’ll be hard.
I was afraid of them becoming a force a few years ago and honestly, they’ve arrived at the door of being a serious team more quickly than I anticipated.
It goes to show how important money and structure are in the game, but crucially, spending correctly and having the right manager too.’
‘Sounds like Rice and Trossard are in the mix to start which would be very welcome. This is our last home game of the season and if we win, we secure 2nd. I’m sure the boys will be pretty fired up for this.’
‘Nothing will be sweeter to put a big dent to their CL qualifying hopes and set it up for their last match.’
‘kiwior must step up help saliba in this game because even big gabi and saliba so struggle against isak.’
‘Really low effort match thread is about what this game and end of season deserve.’
‘I hope we try again Martinelli as CF. Was interesting performance against Liverpool.’
‘Guard of Honour at emirates for newcastle because they won trophy.’
‘Might be nothing to play for if Chelsea or Villa drop points tomorrow.’
‘Would love to beat them really they been annoying against us this season but i expect another sigh draw 😆 specially Newcastle are don’t need much just point against us they have easy home game in their last match day.’
