Arsenal will have to pay “way more” than £38m for Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino this summer, according to the reliable Fabrizio Romano.

Reports recently emerged claiming that the Spanish side are open to £38m offers for the 19-year-old, which is significantly lower than his release clause, but Romano cannot see a deal happening at that price.

What is the latest news involving Pino?

As per GOAL, Arsenal have Pino on their radar, with Mikel Arteta looking to strengthen his side out wide.

The football website claims that while the Spaniard has a £67m release clause in his contract, Villarreal are prepared to sell him for £38m.

Arsenal are not the only club said to be interested in Pino right now. At the start of the month, reports in the player’s homeland stated that Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea were also in the equation.

Both the Gunners and their London rivals Chelsea missed out on Raphinha earlier in the window, which possibly explains why they are currently looking at Pino.

What has Romano said about Pino and Arsenal?

Romano thinks Arsenal or any other club who wants to sign Pino this summer will have to pay more than £38m for his services.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Italian journalist said: “As of now, we have to wait a bit, I think, to understand the situation of Yeremy Pino because he’s an important player for Villarreal.

“I think the rumours of 35 million-40 million are not so correct. I think Villarreal will want way more than this to sell Yeremy Pino this summer.”

Should Arsenal pay more than £38m for Pino?

Pino is a player with a lot of potential. At 19, the Villarreal star is already a Spain international, while last season, he was able to come up with 10 goal contributions in La Liga.

Speaking to El Pais (via football.london) about the youngster, Villarreal’s Under-23s assistant coach Nando Martinez said: “Yeremy stands out for his character. The more difficult the challenge, the more able he is to demonstrate his potential.

“He maintains the essence of when he played on the street as a child. In addition, he lives for football, and every day ensures he has the right complementary training, nutrition and rest. Yeremy has been, and is, a blessing for his coaches.”

Before going above £38m and closer to his release clause, though, it may be worth watching Pino for another year at the Estadio de la Ceramica and making sure he is the real deal.
