The Gunners are said to be one of a number of Premier League clubs watching the Welsh international, with Wales Online revealing that he is a target for many clubs in the top-flight.

Colwill has impressed for the Bluebirds when he's been available this season, but has struggled to put a consistent run of starts together. Despite this, Premier League sides appear to have been impressed by what they've seen and could potentially make a summer move for the Neath-born midfielder.

Arsenal have history when it comes to signing talented Cardiff City youngsters after bringing Aaron Ramsey to the club in the summer of 2008. Ramsey spent 11 years at the Emirates Stadium, and Mikel Arteta's side may look to repeat the trick with Colwill.

It's easy to see why Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Rubin Colwill

It was a disappointing 2022/23 season for Rubin Colwill, and he managed just 22 appearances in all competitions for the Bluebirds, failing to score and registering just one assist, but he's bounced back this season under Erol Bulut.

In total, he's played 39 games for Cardiff this season, scoring three times, although just once in the league, and registering four assists.

He may have only scored once in the league this season, but his goal against rivals Bristol City displayed everything that Colwill is capable of, and shows why Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on him.

The 22-year-old was singled out for praise by Southampton boss Russell Martin after the Bluebirds beat his side recently, with the Saints boss saying: "We were still really dominant without creating much at that point, but they were a real threat on the counter-attack. I thought Rubin Colwill was really outstanding for them today."

This shows that despite limited starts in the Championship this season, Colwill is doing enough to win praise, and had he not suffered from injuries, he'd likely be one of the first names on Erol Bulut's teamsheet this season.

Colwill's talent has been clear to see for a number of years, and he was a surprise selection in Rob Page's Wales squad for Euro 2020 at just 19-years-old and having played just six games for Cardiff.

He's also impressed for Wales on the international stage, and there's no wonder he's attracting interest from Premier League clubs. If interest is genuine and Cardiff receive a concrete offer this summer, they may find it difficult to keep hold of the 22-year-old.

Interested clubs will be hoping Rubin Colwill's injury woes are behind him

The youngster has suffered from a number of injuries as a result of growth spurts in recent seasons. The attacking midfielder has grown quite significantly since making his debut for the Bluebirds and Wales during the 2020/21 season, and now stands at 6"3.

This means that he's had to get used to his new frame, but it seems as if he's finally stopped growing this season, and hasn't lost any of his technical ability despite his height.

Colwill is very talented on the ball, and it's quite uncommon to see a player of his size able to do the things that he does with the ball, and his height could be a blessing in years to come.

The 22-year-old has played more league games this season than he has in any other season, so it would suggest that he's starting to overcome his injury problems, which will be music to the ears of Arsenal and other interested clubs.

Had it not been for these injury problems, Colwill could have quite easily secured his status as one of the best players in the Championship, and he's certainly a unique talent.

With that in mind, Cardiff City could be set for plenty of interest in the midfielder this summer.
