Arsenal eyeing deal for wonderkid as Odegaard alternative – reports | OneFootball

Arsenal are targeting a January move for Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler, according to reports.

According to Spanish news publication Sport , the Gunners are in talks to sign the attacking midfielder on loan.

The 19-year-old has struggled for regular game time at the Spanish giants this season, playing 12 times in all competitions but largely from the substitutes’ bench.

He impressed for his nation Turkey at the European Championship in the summer, scoring a wonder goal against Georgia and also setting up two other goals across the competition.

Guler joined Real from Turkish club Fenerbahce in 2023 and Sport say Mikel Arteta sees the youngster as an alternative option to Martin Odegaard, with Arsenal suffering in his absence through injury this season.

He can also play in the wide positions.

But Sport also say Guler is on the radar of “many teams” and not just Arsenal.
