Blackstenius’ current deal is due to expire at the end of this season and she has attracted interest from big clubs. Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all keen on the Swede, who is Arsenal’s top scorer this season with 17 goals.

The Gunners, however, are confident of agreeing fresh terms with Blackstenius and keeping her at the club. The 28-year-old is viewed as a key member of the squad going forwards and the club are determined that she stays.

Arsenal are looking to bolster their squad this summer and are interested in Barcelona winger Mariona Caldentey. The 28-year-old, who helped Spain win the Women’s World Cup last year, is out of contract at the end of this season.

She is weighing up her options amid interest from Arsenal and will make a decision after this month’s Women’s Champions League final.

Their interest comes after Arsenal confirmed this week that attacker Vivianne Miedema will be leaving after seven years with the club.

The 27-year-old, who is the Women's Super League’s all-time top scorer, is leaving for free after Arsenal decided not to renew her contract. Manchester City are currently leading the race to sign Miedema, but she has interest from clubs in Europe as well.

Arsenal want to bring in a new goalkeeper after confirming on Tuesday that Sabrina D’Angelo will leave this summer when her contract expires. The Gunners are interested in Aston Villa’s No1, Daphne van Domselaar, who has a release-clause of £200,000 in her contract.
