According to The Times, Arsenal are set to renew their interest in Inter’s Lautauro Martinez after missing out on his signature last summer, although face competition from local rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s claimed that due to the Nerazzurri’s ongoing financial troubles, they are willing to part ways with their prized asset for £70 million, and whoever qualifies for the Champions League will be in pole position to complete the deal.

Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has recently revealed that Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is ‘top of their list’ after the north London outfit made ‘new direct contacts’ with the player.

The Brazil international is ‘expected to leave’ the Etihad Stadium after they announced the signing of Erling Haaland and he could be reunited with Arteta, who coached him during his time with the Cityzens.

However, another potential option to lead the line next term for Arsenal is Napoli’s highly-rated star Victor Osimhen.

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via the Manchester Evening News) claims the 23-year-old has chosen the capital club over the Red Devils as his next destination of choice.

What has Jones said about Arsenal?

Eddie Nketiah has started the last five Premier League games in a row for Arsenal after failing to feature from the off all season, scoring four goals and firing his boyhood club to fourth place.

But Jones has disclosed how Arteta remains in the hunt for a ‘great striker’ despite the former England Under-21 international’s impressive form.

He told GiveMeSport: “If they can nail the signing of a striker, then who knows how much further they could push on. Nketiah’s got confidence going in there scoring goals, and he’s a good striker.

“Imagine if they could sign a great striker; what could happen? They’re in that market and seeing what they can do.”

Do Arsenal need a new striker?

a free transfer in January following a disciplinary breach.

That left Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette as his only senior options upfront, yet both players are out of contract in the summer and could depart Arsenal as free agents.
