It's all over at the Emirates and the hosts will rue this as an opportunity missed in the title race.  MIkel Areta's side are now six points off the pace of Liverpool, who still have a game in hand.

Last throw of the dice for Arsenal with a free kick as we enter the final seconds. Can they snatch a stoppage-time winner here?

CHANCE!

How did that not go in!? Lewis-Skelly threads Trossard through but he fails to make it count as Martínez narrows the angle and the forward fires it wide.

CHANCE!

Villa starting to mobilise in Arsenal's half with Bogarde teeing up Tielemans for a shot from distance but it rolls wide of Raya's rightnad post.

CHANCE!

Right as the fourth official signals seven minutes' added time, Merino crashes an effort against the post before Martínez produces two big saves in quick succession. This one is definitely going to be a nail-biter until the end.

NO GOAL! Arsenal 2-2 Aston Villa

As expected, Merino's great strike counts for nothing due to a Havertz handball. Anyone else getting a sense of déjà vu?

GOAL! Arsenal 3-2 Aston Villa

Merino volleys superbly to give the hosts the lead but it might still be chalked off by VAR for a handball by Havertz in the build-up.

CHANCE! Villa working the ball well as Bailey tees up Bogarde on the edge of the area but his shot isn't troubling Raya really.

More substitutions for Villa as Bailey comes on for Ramsey. The visitors are really determined to build on their impressive comeback it seems.

Emery changing things up with Watkins making way after his equaliser for Durán.as the game enters the final 10 minutes of normal time. Will there be a winner in this one?

GOAL! Arsenal 2-2 Aston Villa

Well, well, well! Villa are level as Watkins places a cross to the far post beyond Raya. It's a really good ball from Cash to pick him out, too. Game officially on in north London!

CHANCE!

That should've been a third for the hosts as Gabriel plays a ball over the top for Martinelli but he volleys it over the bar.

Unai Emery getting a bit animated in the dugout area and receives a yellow card. The Villa manager will now serve a touchline ban in next Sunday's encounter with West Ham after picking up his third caution.

Havertz doubles the Gunners' lead with a drilled finish from Trossard's leftsided cross.

CHANCE!

Lewis-Skelly plays a ball across the face of goal but Digne is on hand to clear for a corner.

We're back underway at the Emirates.

The visitors have made a change at the break with Digne replacing Maatsen

HALF TIME! Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa

The Arsenal enforcer will be breathing a sigh of relief after that!

CHANCE!

Ødegaard picks out Trossard on the lefthand side as he cuts inside and lets fly at goal but Martínez is able to parry it with a sprawling stop

CHANCE!

One at the other end now as Maatsen cuts inside, plays a neat one-two before firing at Raya's goal but the Arsenal stopper is equal to it

CHANCE!

Gabriel heads a corner back across the face of goal where it hits a throng of bodies and breaks for Partey on the rebound but he blazes it over the bar.

We're underway in North London

All eyes turning the Emirates, where there was a slightly novel approach in the pre-match buildup.

Well, what a trio of games we had there. After a goalless first half, all three matches ended 2-0 to the away side with Liverpool leaving it until added time to get one over on Brentford. Is that the win that sets them on course for the title? Right now, it feels like it.

Leicester 0-2 Fulham

West Ham 0-2 Crystal Palace

FULL TIME!

Brentford 0-2 Liverpool

GOAL! Brentford 0-2 Liverpool

And that seals it! As Brentford look for an equaliser, Liverpool break with Darwin getting his second in as many minutes.

Is that the goal that sets Liverpool on course for the title? It's been a brilliant game here and the Reds have been pushing since minute one to finally break the deadlock. Remarkable scenes.

GOAL! Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

What a time to net the opener! Just as the clock strikes 90 minutes, Darwin Nunez taps home for Liverpool. It's a huge goal for Arne Slot's men.

CLOSE!

Mohamed Salah has been quiet this afternoon but he almost won the game for Liverpool with a curled effort from the edge of the area! It was so close to nestling in the far corner.

Another one for Brentford as Wissa goes on the outside of Robertson and forces Alisson into a smart stop. Immediately up the other end Trent Alexander-Arnold strikes at goal but it whistles just wide.

He may have been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the week but Luis Guilherme is on for West Ham ...

RED CARD!

There's a sending off at West Ham as Mavropanos is given his marching orders for a high foot.

This game at Brentford has suddenly returned to life with chances at both ends. Trent's cross flew across the box but no one was there to connect. Meanwhile Bryan Mbeumo's effort was saved by Alisson. Surely there's going to be a winner here.

CLOSE!

It's Brentford's turn this time as a free kick from the left-hand side goes right across Alisson's box and evades everyone!

GOAL! Leicester 0-2 Fulham

Fulham have bagged their second of the game with Adama Traore netting from a sweet volley. Surely game over here.

The 'Academy of Football' as they like to call themselves, are at it again ...

ANOTHER CHANCE!

Liverpool are at it again but this Darwin Nunez can only head wide.

Some feathery friends are enjoying their view at the Gtech ...

CHANCE!

Luis Diaz strikes first time from 12 yards out but his shot is saved brilliantly by Flekken down to his right. Liverpool are pushing for that goal though.

A double change upcoming for Liverpool as they try to get that invaluable goal ...

And we're back underway at the London Stadium. Still waiting at the King Power and the Gtech ...

Antonee Robinson is continuing his fine form for Fulham this season ...

Despite a lack of goals there's been no shortage of action in the Premier League so far, with Brentford and Liverpool playing out a breathless opening act. We'll be back in 15 minutes for the second period.

CHANCE!

Cody Gakpo really should have scored there. The Dutchman was played in by Mohamed Salah but his weak effort was seen out of play by Ben Mee.

CHANCE!

Liverpool go close ...

There's a penalty shout at West Ham with Soucek going down under a challenge. The referee however has waved play on. We will get that goal eventually ...

It was raining goals at St James' Park earlier but with half an hour gone in these matches we're still yet to see one.

Things have calmed down somewhat at the Gtech with Liverpool in control now. It's still goalless though.

At the King Power, Fulham are finally getting into the game ...

Konate is the latest to have a go for Liverpool but his effort balloons well over the bar.

It's difficult to describe (despite it being my job) how breathless this Liverpool game is right now. I look down to type and about three separate things have happened. A shot from Gravenberch was recently tipped around the post and then Brentford broke from the corner for Mbeumo to have an effort.

This just about sums it up ...

CHANCE!

Luis Diaz goes close as he tries to head in Konate's cross, but the Colombia international can't connect properly.

We're 10 minutes in but this game at Brentford is already looking like something from the NBA it's so end-to-end.

CLOSE!

Leicester are looking for their opener at the King Power ...

CHANCE!

West Ham are looking dangerous early on and almost went ahead only for Aaron Cresswell to fluff his lines inside the area.

CHANCE!

Some more stats from Bournemouth's win earlier, with Justin Kluivert joining a very special group of players ...

KICK OFF!

And we're underway in the afternoon games.

As we wait for these next games to kick off, a remarkable statistic from the Newcastle game just now ...

There's only 15 minutes to go until three more games with the headline attraction coming from west London as Brentford host Liverpool.

Justin Kluivert might never have a game like that one again. The Dutchman was at the heart of everything Bournemouth did well at St James' Park, with the stats to prove it ...

What a win for Bournemouth. Newcastle came into this game on a nine-match winning run but have been completely taken apart by the Cherries with Justin Kluivert getting a hat-trick. A remarkable day for Andoni Iraloa's men.

FULL TIME! Newcastle 1-4 Bournemouth

GOAL! Newcastle 1-4 Bournemouth

What a stunning goal from Milos Kerkez. The left-back powers forward, takes a touch inside the area and drives an effort into the far corner. This is a stunning win for the Cherries.

CHANCE!

Gordon finds space inside the area but sees his effort cleared off the line! That really does feel like that.

The lad's having a barnburner of a campaign ...

GOAL! Newcastle 1-3 Bournemouth

And that's it, game over. Justin Kluivert has got his hat-trick with an absolute stunner from 25 yards out. What a game he's had.

We're at the end of normal time here. With the referee adding an additional seven minutes.

There's five minutes to go at St James' Park and Newcastle are pushing for that equaliser!

CHANCE!

Gordon almost scored one of the goals of the season there but his volley from the edge of the area was blocked brilliant by Huijsen!

David Brooks comes off to a standing ovation from the travelling fans. He's been spectacular today.

Alexander Isak has been kept very quiet this afternoon. The Swedish striker just had his first sniff of a chance but the Bournemouth defence pounced on the forward to keep him at bay.

CHANCE!

Bournemouth had another opportunity to get a third there but David Brooks' clever flick came back off the post and out.

And here's the proof ...

GOAL DISALLOWED! Newcastle 1-2 Bournemouth

The goal has been ruled out by VAR after it was shown that the ball had previously gone out of play in the build-up.

GOAL! Newcastle 1-3 Bournemouth

And it's Bournemouth who strike again! Dango Outtara finds space at the back post and pokes in after good work down the right-hand side.

We're nearly at the hour mark in the north east and this game has hit a bit of a lull after the frantic first 45 minutes. Can Newcastle up it and find an equaliser?

And Brentford's ...

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Liverpool and Brentford have named their XIs for this afternoon's mouth-watering clash. Here are the teams ...

Article image:⏪ Arsenal drop points, Liverpool leave it late, Bournemouth run riot

CHANCE!

Bournemouth come quickly out of the traps and have an effort through David Brooks. The Wales international though, sees his effort saved by Dubravka.

The teams are back out for the second half with Newcastle making one change as Fabian Schar comes in for Sven Botman.

HALF TIME! Newcastle 1-2 Bournemouth

What a brilliant 45 minutes of football. Justin Kluivert's double has given the Cherries a lead but it's Newcastle who impressed most in the first half. We'll be back in 15 minutes! Don't go anywhere.

GOAL! Newcastle 1-2 Bournemouth

Against the run of play Bournemouth strike just before half time as Justin Kluivert gets his second of the afternoon with a neat finish from the edge of the area. Where did that come from?!

Five minutes to go here at St James' Park and it's really only Newcastle who look like bagging the next goal.

Justin doing exactly what his dad Patrick did two decades ago ...

CHANCE!

A cross/shot from Kluivert beats Dubravka but goes just wide of the Newcastle goalkeeper's post. We're not sure whether Kluivert meant that one, in all honesty.

Henry Winter was impressed with Bruno's header ...

GOAL! Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth

Newcastle are back on level terms thanks to Bruno's brilliant header from 15 yards out. The Magpies have slowly grown into this game since going behind and full deserve their equaliser!

Newcastle have their first proper chance on 21 minutes but Joelinton fires over from the edge of the area.

A great stat here from the good folk at TNT Sports ...

Tyler Adams goes flying in on Bruno but the Bournemouth escapes with just a caution from the referee. Newcastle can't make the most of the resulting free kick!

The Athletic's Newcastle correspondent has his say ...

GOAL! Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth

Justin Kluivert makes the most of Bournemouth's early pressure as he sweeps home an opener after only six minutes. What a start!

CHANCE!

First opportunity of the game goes to Bournemouth as Outtara flicks on a cross but it's a fine save by Martin Dubravka to deny the Cherries.

And we're off at St James' Park!

Should Alexander Isak net today that would be the ninth game in a row in which he's scored - only two games behind Jamie Vardy's record of 11 set in 2015/16. Can he do it?

Newcastle are the in-form team in the Premier League right now with Eddie Howe's side having won nine in a row. Bournemouth meanwhile are in ninth and haven't lost in five. This should be a cracker!
