Arsenal are set to be the first team to beat Sporting in 90 minutes this season as an excellent performance has put them 5-1 up against the Portuguese giants.

Sporting, who beat Manchester City 5-1 in their last Champions League outing, were 3-0 down at half time and conceded twice more in the second half as the Gunners ran riot.

Leandro Trossard grabbed their fifth of the night, and in doing so helped Mikel Arteta's side match an impressive record.

Indeed, this is the first time that they have scored five goals in a Champions League away game since they did so against Fenerbahce all the way back in 2008, and it is their joint biggest winning margin too.

Given they have been in the Champions League for much of that time, it is certainly a surprise, and even more so that it came against an unbeaten Sporting.
