As reported by Bild, Arsenal have been denied a place in the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States.

When Arsenal crashed out of the Champions League quarter-finals at the hands of Bayern Munich on Wednesday night, it meant they would not be involved in the inaugural competition next year.

Joshua Kimmich’s headed effort in the second half was enough for the Bavarian side to progress to the final four, where they’ll meet Real Madrid.

Arsenal will head back to England licking their wounds, where they’ll need to bounce back right away to stay in the Premier League title race.

However, the loss means they won’t join Chelsea and Manchester City at the Club World Cup.

Additionally, it means Arsenal will miss out on a guaranteed €50m.

Next year’s expanded format will see 32 teams take part in the US. Arsenal needed to go all the way by winning this season’s Champions League to take part.

As a result, Austrian side RB Salzburg will head to the tournament instead.
