In a recent report, Inter Live mentioned that Arsenal could move in for Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram this summer. It is understood that the Gunners are eyeing the French forward as a backup option if they fail to land Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee later this year.

Thuram is having a fruitful campaign at the Italian club as he has produced a series of productive displays for them in front of the opposition’s goal. The French attacker has been involved in 43 matches for Inter Milan this season, scoring 14 times and securing 13 assists in the process across all competitions.

The 26-year-old has led the line well for his team and deserves credit for averaging 2.2 shots, 0.8 interceptions and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he needs to find a way to improve his ball distribution after making just 73% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for the Gunners to recruit him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Is Thuram A Good Choice For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Thuram excels at finding some space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area. Standing at 1.92m, Thuram is a dominant presence in the air as well.

The French talent has done well to chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals for Inter up top. Hence, he would bring some much-needed firepower to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline.

At 26, Thuram is about to enter his prime which makes him a worthy target for the North London club to pursue this summer. He is already good enough to fight for a regular starting role at the Emirates Stadium next season.

Furthermore, Thuram might help the Gunners challenge for some major honours over the next few years. Therefore, he would be a great choice for Arteta to consider when the transfer window reopens later this summer.
