Arsenal have announced that William Saliba has signed a new long-term contract at the club. The club have also confirmed he will wear the number two shirt moving forward.
The 22-year-old has put pen to paper to keep him at the club with reports saying the deal will last until 2027.
After three years spent away on loan in his native France, Saliba quickly became a key man at the back for the Gunners last season, making 33 appearances in all competitions as the club enjoyed their best league campaign in years.
His back injury towards the end of the season coincided with the team’s dip in form as Manchester City eventually went on to win the Premier League title.
The news continues a busy summer for the club to date, with Kai Havertz having already joined and Declan Rice and Jurriën Timber on the verge of completing their arrivals.
