Arsenal confirm Leah Williamson's withdrawal from England squad

Following numerous reports on Tuesday, Arsenal have confirmed Leah Williamson has withdrawn from the England squad.

Williamson sustained an injury during training and will now return to Arsenal to undergo further assessments.

As initially reported, the club confirmed Lotte Wubben-Moy has filled the void for England.

The Lionesses are set to take on the United States on Friday before facing Czech Republic on Tuesday.

As I was walking into the Lensbury earlier I saw Leah Williamson on crutches and in a protective boot. Which doesn’t particularly bode well to her participation on Friday, but it could of course be precautionary…
