Arsenal beat Aston Villa 3-0 on Thursday to claim the final spot in the Conti Cup semi-finals.
Scorers: Maanum 29′, 50′, Foord 60′
It was one-way traffic at Meadow Park as Arsenal dominated the pitch en route to victory over Aston Villa.
Frida Maanum was the game-changer for the Gunners, as two impressive individual goals put the hosts in control.
The first featured some impressive footwork in the box, which was no match for Villa’s defence or diving goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.
And the second came after the break when the Norway international’s shot from a tight angle doubled the lead.
Even with over an hour to go, the visitors failed to truly test Arsenal’s defence or debutant goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo.
The likes of Rachel Daly, Alisha Lehmann and former Arsenal player Jordan Nobbs failed to kickstart any sort of comeback for Villa who only recorded two shots on target.
Eventually, a third goal from Caitlin Foord all but put the game to bed 3-0, and the Gunners moved on.
She's red, she's white, she's cool as you like! @CaitlinFoord slots it home 👏 #ContiCup @ArsenalWFC–
Arsenal will now face Manchester City in the final four while West Ham battle Chelsea.
The semi-finals will take place on the 8/9 February and the Conti Cup final is set for 5 March.
