Following links to Arsenal and Chelsea, Brazilian youngster Gabriel Moscardo is set to join Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Gabriel Moscardo to Paris Saint-Germain is a done deal, with the Ligue 1 club reaching a €20m agreement including €2m of add-ons for the transfer.

Moscardo will reportedly travel to Paris as soon as the clubs sign their formal agreement, but Romano describes the transfer as “done”.

The Brazilian 18-year-old had been linked heavily with Arsenal and Chelsea in the past. In the end, it seems he’s set to move to France instead.

Last month, reports from Brazil suggested Chelsea had agreed a deal to sign Moscardo from Corinthians, but those claims were then shot down by other sources.

Ryan Taylor of the Mirror reported that no deal had been agreed between Chelsea and Corinthians, and the race remained open.

Taylor added that Chelsea did bid for Moscardo in August, and he’s a player they liked. But Arsenal were another club to send scouts to watch the 18-year-old in recent months, and the Gunners weren’t out of it yet.

Romano then reported that as well as the English clubs, Paris Saint-Germain are keen on Moscardo, and it looks like that’s where he’ll end up.

Only just 18 years old, Moscardo has already made 37 appearances for Corinthians’ first team this year, playing a defensive midfield role.
