Arsenal still want to add more quality to their squad before the transfer window closes, believes Michael Bridge.

While the Sky Sports reporter feels manager Mikel Arteta was a bit coy about making further signings when the Gunners were in Orlando for pre-season, the Spaniard is now being more open about his desire to continue strengthening.

What is the latest transfer news involving Arsenal?

Arsenal have signed the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, but it does appear that their transfer business may not actually be finished.

The north London club are currently being linked with a move for AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali. According to Calciomercato.it, they have held talks with the Italian outfit about signing the 22-year-old midfielder.

Amid the links to Tonali and other players, Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal will try and add to their squad again before the market shuts.

“We are going to try,” the 40-year-old recently told Sky Sports (via The Sun) when asked about making more signings. “If we can do them, great. But now it’s work with the players we have, the focus should be with the players we have.”

What has Bridge said about Arteta and Arsenal?

Bridge says Arteta’s stance has changed and can see Arsenal re-entering the market while there is still time to.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Sky Sports reporter said: “Arteta’s sort of changed his stance over the last couple of weeks. When I was with them in Orlando, Arteta wouldn’t give too much away, but now he’s quite insistent that they do need a bit more.

“I think the message from Arsenal is, ‘Yes, we’ve got a big squad. We want to trim that squad, but we also need to add quality.’ “

Can Arsenal top the signing of Jesus?

On paper, Jesus is easily Arsenal’s best signing of the transfer window. He is a proven Premier League player who arrived to fill a massive gap in Arteta’s squad.

During his time at Manchester City, the Brazilian scored close to 100 goals in 233 appearances. His record in the Champions League, a competition the Gunners will be hoping he can help them qualify for, was particularly impressive.

Which club did Marc Overmars start his professional career at?

Go Ahead Eagles Ajax Feyenoord PSV Eindhoven

In 37 outings in Europe’s elite competition, he registered on 20 occasions, which is a fantastic return.

Ultimately, it would be a surprise if Arsenal went on to sign a better player than the striker, especially at this stage of the window.
