Arsenal could make up to three statement signings this summer, claims Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The north London club have been heavily linked with Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus, and Taylor thinks the Brazilian could be one of three big arrivals at the Emirates as Mikel Arteta looks to bring in a couple of strikers.

What is the latest transfer news involving Arsenal?

According to The Athletic, Jesus is Arsenal’s No.1 striker target for the upcoming transfer window.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a new frontman, with Alexandre Lacazette out of contract next month.

To land Jesus, GOAL claims the Gunners will have to pay €60m (£51m) for the 25-year-old, who could see less game time at the Etihad next season following City’s acquisition of Erling Haaland.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham, who has impressed in Italy this season after scoring 17 Serie A goals, are two other names that have also been mentioned.

What has Taylor said about Arsenal’s transfer plans?

Taylor is expecting Arsenal to make possibly three huge signings this summer, including two strikers.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Daily Express journalist said: “I think now it’ll be about adding quality options, maybe two or three substantial statement signings like Jesus. Obviously striker will be an area they will look to target; that will be a priority, and they’ll bring in at least two.”

Who else could be a marquee signing for Arsenal?

As well as Jesus, Arsenal seem to have a strong interest in Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans.

The Telegraph recently reported that Arteta is pushing the club to make an opening £25m bid for the Belgium international, who will be a free agent next year when his contract at the King Power Stadium expires.

Technically, Tielemans is probably one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League, perhaps even in Europe.

On the former AS Monaco man earlier this season, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers told the Daily Mail and other outlets: “He is an outstanding player, one of Europe’s top midfielders. He is integral to our game and a joy to work with – a super professional. A young player with that focus is great to see.”

Quite clearly, Arteta has his targets. If other big clubs decide to throw their hats into the ring, though, he may have some convincing to do after watching his side miss out on Champions League qualification.
